Various types of Purlins and its Significant Features
Purlins are supporting factor or a strength-giving factor that helps in roof and wall sheeting. There exist different types of purlins of various height to weight ratio. And they are enough stronger, lighter and easier to implement. These purlins are most probably installed on a metal building system. Purlins can be classified based on its shape and the material of manufacturing. According to material classification there exist mainly two types of purlins;
- Wooden Purlins
- Steel Purlins
As the name implicates these purlins are made of wood and steel materials. Apart from this there exist other two types of purlins.
- C Purlins (Cee) and
- Z Purlins (Zed)
What is C and Z purlins?
These are steel structure purlins used n the secondary framing of Pre-engineered buildings. It provides support to the roof and also transfers the load to the primary structure. Its expandable and wider span features make it ideal for large-sized roof and wall requirement.
