What Is Structural Steel Fabrication - Process & Uses | Oriental
What is a Structural Steel fabrication?
Steel fabrication is the process of bending, cutting and moulding steel to form a frame. These steel structures are put together to form a pre-defined shape.
The process of building a steel structure or pre-engineered steel structure building need some skill and experience. The one who does this should possess the quality of taking the raw material and process it to transform to the desired result.
The process involved in steel fabrication
Cutting
First of all the process include the cutting of raw materials into the necessary size and shapes in quantity. Cutting is performed using plasma torches and a laser cutter.
Bending
Bending is done by using special machinery. The bending has a definite ratio and precision.
Welding
The final part of creating a structure is welding. The cut-down pieces are joined together by welding in proper order. The resultant of welding will be the frame of the structure.
Uses of Structural Steel fabrication
- Affordable
- Prefabrication ability
- Low maintenance
