These are the buildings which are engineered at a factory and assembled at site. Usually, Pre-engineered buildings are steel structures. Built-up sections are fabricated at the factory to the exact size, transported to site and assembled at site with bolted connections. This type of Structural Concept is commonly used to build Industrial Metro station, Buildings, Warehouses etc.


To design a pre-engineered building as accurately as possible, engineers have to consider the following.

Manufacturer Designed Buildings

The speciality engineer can only design those elements which the manufacturer commercially communicates the assembly and obligated to supply procedures, design responses and assumptions, to the limit that the design depends on or affects work by others, to the Engineer of Record usually described in the manufacturer's erection drawings and assembly manuals. The  engineered product produced by the manufacturer but does not typically provide engineering services to the project
